Community Gathering Weekend Part 2

Part two of the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council Community Gathering Sessions takes place March 29th and 30th at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre!

There will be knowledge sharing, culture and history demonstrations, facilitated workshops and more!
Meals and honoraria will be provided.
There will be door prizes and giveaways throughout the weekend. Citizens are asked and encouraged to wear their regalia.

This is a NOTICE OF VENUE CHANGE
The Ta’an Kwäch’än Council Administration / Gathering Place Planning Workshops
On Wednesday, March 27 and Wednesday, April 03 will take place at the Coast High Country Inn
from 5-7pm
Workshops from April 10 and onwards will continue to be held in the Town Hall meeting room at the Gold Rush Inn

IVEY LEADER BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

DO YOU WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY WHILE DOING WHAT YOU LOVE?
Follow your passion, be your own boss, and build a business in your community. In partnership with the Ivey Business School and Yukon College, the LEADER Project will be running a one week business program in Whitehorse for youth and entrepreneurs from Yukon First Nations. There is no cost to participate in the program, and accommodation will be provided for those coming in from outside Whitehorse.

The LEADER Project aims to help young entrepreneurs bring business ideas to life through coaching and mentorship. By participating in this program, you will be able to:

  • Transform your big ideas into a plan that you can use to start or scale your business.
  • Learn about concepts like marketing, strategy, and finance that you can use to make your business a success.
  • Learn from Yukon-based entrepreneurs and meet a group of like-minded youth who are also interested in building a career in entrepreneurship.

 

 

DDDC – The Gathering Gazette

The Da Daghay Development Corporation Gathering Gazette for March is available here and includes a review of the first in a series of information and planning sessions regarding the building of a TKC Administration Building and Community Gathering Centre.

Spring Camp at Helen’s Fish Camp

Spring Camp will be held March 18th to 21st, 2019 at Lake LeBarge. We will do many traditional outdoor activities, we will have fun learning and making new friends as well as renewing old friendships!

Ages 8 & up. (Any child under 8 years of age, will need to be accompanied by an adult.)

Lunch & Snacks will be served. Be sure to dress for the weather.

Application forms are available at the TKC Health Building.

Spring Break Programming

Ta’an Kwäch’än Council Youth Outreach Support is hosting Spring Break Afternoon Programming 
for ages 12-18.
Wednesday March 13th to Friday, March 15th, 2019

**It is important that you register for one or more days, this will allow for us to plan transportation and staffing, please contact Ben Monkman at 867-334-8306 or youthsupport@taan.ca to do so. Please bring appropriate outerwear for all outdoor activities. The days have been planned for the warmer afternoon but it may still be cold around the 11 o’clock start time.

Community Concerns Meeting March 14th

Ta’an Kwäch’än Chief & Council invite you to attend a Community Concerns Meeting.

March 14th, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hellaby Hall

Dinner will be provided

For citizens who cannot make the meeting, please call the office prior to the meeting date and we will give you a number to call in and express your concerns.
