Jordan’s Principle is a principle that ensures there is substantive equality and that there are no gaps in publicly-funded health,  social and education programs, services and supports for First Nations children. The Jordan’s Principle Online Handbook is now available and can help you determine if your child is eligible.

Christmas Party! December 13th

On Thursday, December 13th, TKC is hosting a Family Christmas Party from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre! Santa will make an appearance for kids 15 and under!

Draws for citizens including one round trip flight from Air North!

Youth Community Climate Change Champions Training

The Arctic Institute of Community-Based Research is seeking youth for a unique climate change training opportunity. They are looking for one male and one female ages 18-30 who will not only participate in the training in Whitehorse, but also remain involved in the project with the aim of being long-term leaders in their community. TKC DANCE GROUP

The next TKC Traditional Dance Group meeting will take place on Thursday November 19th, in the Health Boardroom at 117 Industrial Road!  We will have dinner available, so bring your ideas and we can get started! Even if you don’t want to dance, we will need sewing and people who know the songs and dances so that we can all learn and pass on the knowledge!

Sausage Making Workshop!

The Southern Tutchone Tribal Council is offering two Sausage Making Workshops in Whitehorse at the Skookum Jim Friendship Center. There is space for 15 participants in each workshop. The workshops are exclusively for citizens from Kluane First Nation, Ta’an Kwäch’än Council, and Champagne and Aishihik First Nations.  Our goal is to have 5 citizens from each member nation for both workshops! We will keep a wait/cancellation list to ensure all 30 seats are filled.
