On November 30, 2017, Chief Kristina Kane met and received updates from members of the Canadian Armed Forces Joint Task Force. The Task Force is charged with operations and administration in Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the waters Hudson Bay and the Canadian part of the Arctic Ocean. The headquarters are in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, and it is part of Canadian Joint Operations Command.
