On March 4, 2026 at the Ta’an Kwach’an Council (TKC) Elder Betsy Jackson was recognized for her years of teaching, in particular for her work with youth where she brings heart and passion for learning to her community.

TKC’s Youth Council Chair Ethan Lavallee was also recognized for the tremendous difference he makes to his community and for youth across the Yukon through his mentorship and leadership. Both Citizens received recognition at the Youth & Elder Education Awards Night where altogether 15 Yukon Youth and Elders were recognized.

The awards were made possible through the Youth of Today Society and the Yukon First Nation Education Directorate. Congratulations to Betsy and Ethan for all your dedication and hard work.
