This Saturday September 29th the Yukon Historical & Museums Association, together with the Jilkaat Heritage Centre (Klukwan, Alaska) and the Yukon Archives are presenting a storytelling circle on the maps in the afternoon from 2 PM to 5 PM at the Yukon Archives in Whitehorse. TKC Elder Frances Woolsey has been involved in researching and documenting the maps with Klulwan people and Linda Johnson since the 1980s. Frances will be one of the storytellers on Saturday along with Elder Bessie Cooley from Teslin Tlingit Council.
The Yukon Government, Ta’an Kwäch’än Council, and Kwanlin Dun First Nation are working on a collaborative local area plan for the Fox Lake Area and would like to invite you to a public open house to provide an update on the planning process.
Anyone interested in forming a TKC dance group, come on by the Health building at Ta'an to discuss the possibilities!

TKC Youth Outreach Coordinator will be supervising 10 TKC Students (ages 5 to 12) at the Canada Games Center Halloween Spooktacular from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm!
Immediately following the party at the CGC, there will be a Halloween Dinner at Boston Pizza for participating students from 4:30 to 6:00 pm! Students between the ages of 13 and 20 are welcome to join the dinner, but WILL REQUIRE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION to and from Boston Pizza! If you are interested in having your child participate, please pre-register by emailing youthsupport@taan.ca, or by calling 334-8306 by THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25th!
Interested in starting a TKC Traditional Dance Group? On Thursday November 1st, we are meeting in the Health Boardroom at 117 Industrial Road to discuss the possibilities! We will have dinner available, so bring your ideas and we can get started! Even if you don’t want to dance, we will need sewing and people who know the songs and dances so that we can all learn and pass on the knowledge!
All Ta’an Kwäch’än Council citizens are invited to attend the Swearing-in Ceremony for Chief and Deputy Chief. The Ceremony will take place on Monday, November 05th at 5:00 pm at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre Multi-purpose room. Dinner will follow.
