Citizenship Committee
Meetings: Four times per year
Vacancies: Jenny Dawson Family
Duties: Reviews and approves or denies Citizenship applications.
Term: Two Years
Housing Committee
Meetings: Ad Hoc
Vacancies: Non Citizens (3), Citizens (2)
Skills: Relevant experience/ education in finance.
Duties: Planning and implement housing initiatives.
Term: Two Years
Lands and Resources
Advisory Committee
Meetings: Ad Hoc
Vacancies: Maggie Broeren,
Jenny Dawson Family, Jenny Lebarge, Susie Jim, Elders Council, Youth Council
Skills: Relevant experience or
education in lands and resources.
Duties: Making recommendations on legislation, projects and initiatives related to Lands and Resources.
Term: Three Years
Trust Working Group
Meetings: Ad Hoc
Vacancies: Maggie Broeren; Ex-Officio (Elder Rep x 2)
Skills: Relevant experience/ education in finance.
Duties: Assist with community
presentations, and information sharing regarding the future of the TKC Trust.
Term: Two Years
Health Programs and Services
Advisory Committee
Meetings: Monthly

Skills: Prior experience/education related to wellness programming.
Duties: Review programs, services and initiatives; recommendations.
Term: Two Years
Policy Committee
Meetings: As needed
Vacancies: Chief Jim Boss (2); Maggie Broeren (2); Jenny Lebarge (2);Susie Jim (2); Jenny Dawson (2)
Duties: Review and propose updates to existing policies, draft new policies in alignment with Council priorities and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Consult with stakeholders and gather community input on policy matters and recommend for Council approval and implementation.
Term: Two Years
Audit Committee
Meetings: Ad Hoc
Vacancies: Susie Jim Family.
Duties: Assist in presentation of
annual audit to General Assembly;
review and make recommendations to Council annually on fiscal year
statements; provide recommendations to Council related to fiscal policy and
legislation.
Term: Three Years
Cultural and Heritage
Committee
Meetings: Ad Hoc
Vacancies: Susie Jim Family.
Duties: Currently inactive this committee is appointed by the Elders Council and would work closely on reviewing cultural and
heritage activities.
Term: Three Years
Education Commission
Meetings: Ad Hoc
Vacancies: Jenny Dawson Family.
Skills: Relevant knowledge and educational skillset within the field of Education and passionate for empowerment through educational supports.
Duties: Review and approve applications from Citizens pursuing post-secondary opportunities. Make recommendations to Council review and approval of applications from Citizens for funding opportunities, and make recommendations to Council regarding current and future Education initiatives and opportunities.
Term: Three Years
How to Appoint a Member of Your Family to a TKC Committee:
- Submit your resume and letter to the Clerk of the Council, noting which committee you would like to be added to.
- Council will review and vote on a motion.
- Once the motion is passed you will be notified.
