Elder Bill Bruton, Elder Frances Woolsey and Deputy Chief Michelle Telep attended a meeting on November 23 and 24, 2017, to discuss the research relationships between Yukon College/Yukon Research Centre and First Nations. As the college moves towards university status, this is especially important. The meeting was grounded in the document Together Today for our Children Tomorrow. It covered topics including Yukon communities, First Nation research priorities, and mechanisms for engagement and collaboration. A major outcome of the meeting was the recognized need for Yukon College/Yukon Research Centre to do community visits and the acknowledgement that every community is different with respect to research capacity, needs, and interests.
