The Yukon Anti-Poverty Coalition (YAPC) is hosting a 5-week training program on how to use your voice to create change in the community. Voices Influencing Change is a program for people with lived experience of homelessness, poverty and other forms of social exclusion. Individuals who are interested in sharing their own experiences of poverty, homelessness, or exclusion to make a difference for others, are welcome to apply for this program.
The training will take place in downtown Whitehorse and will run February 5 to March 7, 2019 on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9:30 – 12:30 pm followed by lunch. Training focuses on story work, public speaking, leadership skills, advocacy opportunities, and how to be heard in the community. Through YAPC and Voices Influencing Change, participants are given opportunities to bring awareness to lived experience issues and to work towards ending poverty and homelessness in the Yukon.
