Chief Kristina Kane and Deputy Chief Peters attended Yukon Forum, February 14th 2019 at Nàkwät’à Kų̀ Potlatch House. Yukon First Nation Leaders and Government of Yukon’s Premier and Cabinet members discussed mining, economic development, the Arctic and Northern Policy Framework, and an Intergovernmental Forum with the federal government.

 

Brandon Smith traveled with Chief Kane to Ottawa last week. He attended the Land Claims Agreements Coalition (LCAC) meetings  participated in the Gordon Foundation negotiations simulation exercises. During some free time Brandon and other SGYFN youth received a tour of Parliament Hill with MP Larry Bagnell.

Brandon also had the chance to speak directly to Minister Bennett at the Leadership meeting on Feb 27th.
