Pursuant to section 9 of the Constitution of the Ta'an Kwäch'än Council, Ta'an Kwäch'än citizens elect a Chief and Deputy-Chief every three years.
Chief Brenda Lorraine Sam
and Deputy-Chief Richard Martin
were elected on 19 October 2009. The responsibilities of the Chief and Deputy-Chief are set out in sections 9.5 and 9.6 of the Constitution and in the statutes of the Ta'an Kwäch'än Council.
